I recently experienced the PS3 owner’s worst nightmare. The dreaded YLOD (Yellow Light Of Death, similar to better known Red Ring of Death). I was playing Operation Flashpoint with a friend, when all of a sudden, the PS3 shut off. I went to restart it, and saw the flashing yellow light, followed by the red. The PS3 would not restart.
I immediately went to the web to see what the error was (I had not yet heard of the YLOD). I saw there were lots of people who ran into this issue, b...

Great games have some basic components to them. Good storyline, interesting characters, solid controls, and fun gameplay that doesn’t get boring in the hours required to complete the game. Dark Void has some of these components, but lacks in others.
For me, it had a good ...

This gem was almost lost to us, but was saved in the end. And good thing it was, because this is the best movie based game I have ever played. If you enjoyed Ghostbusters the movie, you will enjoy the game. The story was written by the original writers (who also happen to be 2 main characters in the movies/game) and is voiced all the origina...

EA and Westwood studios decided to give us PS3 users a big present. They upgraded the graphics for this edition and added some cool bonus features. The upgraded graphics do require a download onto your hard drive. The game has an impressive list of A and B list actors, and the campy cut scenes are great fun. The team has also inc...

This game was the last one made by Ensemble studios, the makers of Age of Empires. A great loss to the gaming community, especially to RTS gamers. The reward for making a kick ass game for Microsoft seems to be folding your company. Thanks Great Evil One.
I recently played Halo ODST, and was greatly disappointed with it. The reason was not gamepla...

I received 2 flavors of Gamer Grub (PB&J and Pizza) from my wife for Christmas. They also have Wasabi and Chocolate flavors. Of the two I tried, I liked PB&J the best. The best parts are the dried strawberries and the peanut butter chips. I wasn’t wild about the peanuts, as they didn’t have extra flavoring. I figured it was to adhere to the tagline for...

I am a big fan of the recent Call of Duty games, and was interested in the HD remake of the first in the series. I knew it wouldn’t be as polished as the new ones, but I guess I didn’t know how badly the game had aged. I had never played the original before, and might have been impressed if I had played it then, but games like Battlefiel...
